Act (Week 7)

Act

In the time of the early church, there was a power and anointing of the Holy Spirit that was reflected in the actions of the apostles as people were saved, healed, and delivered from demonic spirits. That is what today’s church should look like. In this day and age, our world is in desperate need for an empowered church and a people filled with the Holy Spirit, where signs, wonders, and miracles may take place. If we are going to call ourselves a New Testament church, then our actions should reflect those of the apostles so the world can see the acts of a mighty God.

Credence (Week 7)

Credence

Fear comes to us all. The question is, what do you fear most in life? Illness, job loss, failure in life, family, or marriage? Fear is a spirit and that spirit is not from God. 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us to give no credence to fear.

For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind.

We as believers must overcome that spirit by standing on the promises of God's Word. It has been said that Fear is faith with cold feet. I see the problem, I hear the problem, my heart may skip a beat, however my hope and trust is in the Lord. That is how we give no credence to fear.

What is Christmas? (Week 2)

What is Christmas?

In today's culture it is so easy to get caught up with all the events, parties, stress of buying gifts, and many other distractions that can steal what Christmas really is. In truth, it's a little boy born to die and rise again to give everlasting life to anyone who follows him and his teachings. Christmas is Christ, and that is what we celebrate.

Overwhelmed or Overcoming: The Overcoming Man (Week 14)

Overwhelmed or Overcoming

Becoming a Christian does not mean all your problems go away. As long as a person is breathing, the enemy is out to discourage and destroy them, even believers. Even though we’re saved, many of us carry baggage from life's issues, but we must learn to overcome our past and present problems, discouragements, and wrong thinking, such as being negative or critical. God's Word helps us overcome ourselves and the many other issues we face as believers so we may walk victorious as overcomers.

Breathe: Canceling the Enemy’s Attacks (Week 12)

Breathe

The enemy does everything possible to choke the life of God out of us; to stop us from standing up for what we believe in through distractions and casting a spirit of false limitation on God and our prayers. But God has given us the tools of prayer, praise, and faith to neutralize the attack of the enemy and obtain our victory in Christ Jesus our Lord.

People in our nation, state, churches, and in our own families are looking for hope of a better tomorrow. Is there hope for our soul? To help us get past our discouragements and disappointments?
God's Word says yes. Summed up in Jeremiah 29:11, there is hope through Christ.

“I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans not harm you, to give you a future and a hope”

No Fear

Over 350 times the Word of God has told us not to fear. There are many fears that we face today: personal fears, fears for our family, fears over finances. Fear can paralyze us and send us running away and hiding, but when we trust God, we hear the words that came to Joshua- “be strong and courageous.” Only then can we overcome fear.

Amazed By God or Dazed By Life

Problems, circumstances, and issues can knock the wind out of us, bring us spiraling down into discouragement and leave us dazed and overwhelmed. God told Joshua before taking the city of Jericho that He would do amazing things. If we trust God, we will truly be amazed at what He does in us and for us.

Traits of the Overcomer

There are various traits and characteristics that represent overcomers. People who fill their mind with positive thinking, people of consistent prayer and trust in God, people who lean on God's word and His promises. Anyone who remains in God and trusts Him can and will overcome life's issues and problems. The Word says, “blessed is the man who puts his trust in the Lord.” That is how one overcomes
